New Year’s Eve Resolution Ball, Grand Rapids, MI

Expected to sell out any day now, the New Year’s Eve Resolution Ball is the highlight of the year in Grand Rapids. Called a “Chicago-Vegas style bash,” it includes headliner DJs, dancing and “Cirque style entertainment.” Choose from a seven or five-hour drink package. A midnight buffet, champagne reception, party favors, a confetti explosion and more make for an exciting and elegant evening. VIP options are available, too. Charlevoix Bridge Drop, Charlevoix, MI

Enjoy carriage rides, s’mores and hot cocoa, a snowman making contest and a free movie at the Charlevoix Bridge Drop. Fireworks displays kick off at 9 p.m. and midnight, when the Memorial Bridge is dropped to welcome in the new year. The festivities begin downtown at 12 p.m.

New Year’s Eve in the Haven, South Haven, MI

Downtown South Haven clears the streets just prior to 4:30 pm, so New Year’s Eve in the Haven can kick off. Festivities include live music, dancing, ice skating, crafts for the kids and a beach ball drop at midnight. There are nominal fees for some of the individual activities.

Henderson Castle, Kalamazoo, MI

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Henderson Castle. Take part in a Murder Mystery and stay for the party that follows. The Murder Mystery includes dinner and the party portion of the ticket includes two drink vouchers. Tickets are $99.

The Drop Motor City New Year Eve at Downtown Detroit, Detroit, MI

Enjoy a free, fun-for-the-whole-family event in Detroit on New Year’s Eve. The Drop runs from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and includes live entertainment, a Kid Zone, fire pits and loads of family-friendly activities all at no cost. A special Kid’s Drop will take place at 6:30, with the official drop going down at midnight as everyone in Detroit ushers in the new year. Food trucks will be available for purchasing snacks and meals.

Lansing Brewing Company New Year's End Bash, Lansing, MI

There’s no cover charge at the Lansing Brewing Company for their Balldropper New Year’s Eve. They’re even bringing back their Balldropper DIPA so true craft beer aficionados can ring in the new year in style. Rock all night long to the music of Atomic Annie and wait for the countdown to the new year to begin. The party starts at 8 p.m.

Motor City Gala at the Atheneum, Detroit, MI

The Atheneum Suite Hotel & International Banquet Center is the site for the Motor City Gala, the most exciting way to ring in the new year in the Detroit area.
