About Us:

On June 11, 1993, Bell's Brewery became the first Michigan brewery to serve beer by the glass to the public. The Eccentric Café offers customers a chance to taste many of Bell's well known beers, as well as small batch brews that are not distributed outside of the pub. Visitors enjoy its warm atmosphere and spacious beer garden and patio. The Cafe also features interesting food, an extensive collection of art and ephemera, as well as live entertainment throughout the week (music, movies, theater, homebrew demonstrations and more).

In the beginning of 2010, renovations to the downtown Kalamazoo facility began with plans to make significant improvements to the existing Café and transform former warehouse space into a separate, dedicated, and state-of-the-art music venue.

The Cafe officially reopened on March 28, 2011, allowing us to host musicians and other entertainment acts from across the country. Renovations also included expanded restrooms, additional seating options, a transformed Beer Garden, a new patio and a new main entry way.

Great beers, good food, fun decorations, nice service. Nevertheless, I was disappointed. Bell's is one of my favorite breweries, consistently brewing over the top beers and for the last 10 years I heard stories about the eccentric cafe. A cafe with great (and great vegetarian) food and more important, with plenty of beer that could only be consumed on premises. The food was good but not outstanding (beer cheese soup was very mild, onion rings too fatty, cheese plate was adequate but I had wished for more variety, more cheese, and deeper flavor) and I was missing fresh vegetables. Many flagship beers were on draft but I had come all the way to sample the outliers, the one-offs, the new, the beers not shipped to every state. I would love to give 5 stars and the quality of beer and our waitress would have deserved it, but this was a unicorn for me that lost its horn when I had a tug.

The food was good and has a great selection of beer as expected. Food was a little pricey but beer was cheap so it averages out. They have concerts as well with fun bands for a avg sized venue ~1000. Would recommend checking out. The actual brewery and tour sight is about 10 minutes away.

Came here for a concert, which was great! I had the Cider to drink, which was good, and my husband ate the Spicy Burger, which he enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed a couple different beers on draft. Great atmosphere here. Recommended!

Really enjoyed our visit to the Eccentric Cafe. First off, service was phenomenal. Waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and super friendly. Briefed him on the Mrs. BP's beer tastes so he could make a recommendation and he delivered. Atmosphere is really laid back. Decor is eclectic with some of the old and new and a lot of the local. We had lunch and the food was great. Mrs. BP had the brisket sandwich, I went Veggie Burger. Both were outstanding! Definitely will hit this place up again if in the area!

Cool place. Saw the JJ Grey show in the beer garden. What an awesome experience all around. Will be looking for more shows at this place. Of course, awesome beer and food as well and the staff was phenomenal.
