About Us:

Northern Lights Tree Farms, LLC. is a love story that began with a young girl who enjoyed working in the fields with her father in a small community on the west side of Michigan. Selling trees from the farm on a retail lot in Columbus Ohio, she met a competitor who turned out to be the man of her dreams. They married and started their own tree farm near her family's farm on the west side of Michigan, hence Northern Lights Tree Farms. The family grew to three children; one son and two daughters. Now, in the mid stages of life, things are evolving as time marches on. Steve and Denise Pagura, celebrating their 26th year of marriage on August 10th, are proud to announce the graduation of their two daughters Christina (24) from Ohio State University and Angela (23) from Michigan State University. Josh (31) is the Operations Manager of Northern Lights and Slocum Farms. Slocum Farms is the new entity devised from the split of Slocum Brothers Tree Farm, which was started in 1952 by Ted Slocum and his brother Jerry, formerly known as Slocum Brothers Tree Farm. The two brothers grew the business to cutting over 200,000 trees per year. Nearing its 60th year in business, the Slocum's are in the succession stages of the business. Ted's family is continuing in farming as Gerald's side is easing out. The assets of the farm have been split and some of the acreage sold to our neighbors. With the passing of the torch, there is a time for reflection and memories. It is a time to remember days gone by and a time to look forward to the future with the energy and optimism of youth. It is the natural sequence of life.
