Our founders John and Carolyn Beck purhcased the "family farm" from John's parents in the early 1970's. Originally run as a wholesale fruit and vegetable farm, the young Becks found it hard to make ends meet in the depressed wholesale market. They had to find an innovative way to keep the farm in operation.

Then it came to them. They needed to make apple cider and donuts. John's parents were skeptical of the new business plan. Understanding the elder Beck's concerns, the young entrepreneurs pressed on with the plan and through hard work and faith in their efforts the business began to take off. Help came from many extended family members and friends.

After their initial success, they began adding more and more goodies to offer their customers. Cider and donuts were followed by pies, breads, preserves, honeys and syrups. Weekend entertainers were brought in (late 1970's) for fall "festival-type" events. Barns were transformed into the Gift Shop, the Snack Barn and even a winery. To this day we try to add something new every year to always be original for our valued customers.

Remaining Family Friendly is Uncle John's number one goal. We want to be the place that you bring your children, grandchildren, even great grandchildren year after year. your business is greatly appreciated and we hope that you enjoy your visit to your farm. Bring your family soon - start your own tradition!

If you want more of a relaxed visit to this facility should definitely visit in the winter/spring. The summer/fall are very busy because that is when they are making their cider. Things here may seem expensive but everything is fresh and homemade or handmade. You are also welcome to bring your own picnics. There are tours, watch the cider get pressed, gift shops, cafe, hay rides, pumpkin patch, kids playground and much more! Plenty of things to do with the whole family and friends that want the full Michigan experience. We highly recommend this place

I was there for a wine tasting in the early spring and was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere. The tasting space is cozy and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I'm eager to return when the rest of the amenities are open.

Love this place! Beautiful tasting room for hard ciders and wine. Friendly staff. The main gift shop and bakery were not open when I was there (those dont open til Memorial Day), but from past visits I know those are awesome as well. Great little place in St. Johns - I highly recommend a visit there!

Uncle John's is so nice in the fall. I came here for some quick things in the summer and it's still beautiful to see. There's many things to do in the Fall though

I recall coming here for a field trip in elementary school, and I got to learn all about how cider is made, as well as try some hot cider. I typically stop here on my way northbound to visit family, and today I got to try some of the seasonal Apple Brandy which was very strong, but pairs exquisitely with hot cider, as well as their dessert wine and a very sweet honey wine. The bartender was very helpful and friendly, she does a great job of explaining the different beverages available. I also went into the main shop where there are donuts, hot cider, baked goods, etc. The cashier who rung me up was helpful as well, quick and friendly. I always have a pleasant experience when I stop by, and will always look forward to the next time I pass through! Keep up the great customer service and tasty selection!
