I make a point to stop in here every time I am near Munising. The coffee is great, the atmosphere is unique, and the food is delicious! Over the years the have expanded their menu and it is always a treat to come in and see whats new. They have a little something for everyone. There is even a small selection of one of a kind gifts. The aspect I like most is that there are books to read while you have your coffee or food. As well as books to buy. Definitely a must if you are coming to Pictured Rocks!
Very chill and relaxing cafe and bookstore! The food was great too! Not pretentious, just real simple, good food and atmosphere. Had to leave before live music set but I thought that was a super cool addition to the cafe/bookstore! I love books so eating amongst them put me in a calm and intriguing mood - can't help but look at all the different books on the shelves to stir up memories and/or interest. Looking forward to going back next time I'm in the U.P.!! =)
I loved, loved, loved this place! We happened upon it only because we were camping, it started raining and we needed a place to hide until the rain subsided (our plan was to go sightseeing but it wasn't an option in the rain). This place was listed in one of the travel guides and I'm glad we stopped. The coffee is great, they have good bakery items, they serve food too (we didn't eat a meal here so I can't comment on that, but people around us ate meals and it looked and smelled so yummy) and a TON of books! They also have a large selection of games available to play, but we were disappointed because so many of the games had missing pieces or were in a huge mess. But I loved that they made this place warm, friendly and inviting. Once you're in there, you want to "hang out" for awhile. It's a great place for one person to enjoy or a group. There's also a small store at the back that sells locally made art and, you guessed it, more books. Another thing I loved is that all of the books are for sale (used and new) but you can just sit and read while you drink coffee and not buy anything (there's free WiFi too). I highly recommend this place! It was busy when we were there, yet it still felt inviting and cozy (our kids had fun too, so that's a huge plus in my book).
Cute little coffee shop, serves nice sandwiches. Not a lot of selection for children to eat, there are hot dogs though. There are quite a few original artworks for sale, and some are really interesting. There is a large selection of used books for sale, if that's what you're interested in. The service was quick enough, it made for a nice quick brunch.
My first impression from this place's exterior was, "where should I go". Once inside, it made a whole lot more sense. We could get coffee and food on one end and sit in a completely separate area. This separate area is where the bookstore, WiFi, and artistry. The crowd was a mix of tourist and locals working. We felt very comfortable eating our meal and hanging out for a bit. Food was decent and I would definitely come back to this place prior to heading to the park. There aren't very many other places to go and eat.
