Union City Memorial Day Parade and Cemetery Service honoring our nation's fallen Veterans.

The Union City Fire Department Auxillary is holding a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast at the Fire Hall from 8 A.M. - 1 P.M. Veterans eat free.

Ages 0-5 free, 5-12 $4, Adults 13 + $8.

The parade will extend through downtown Union City, ending at Riverside Cemetery, which takes approximately an hour and ten minutes. The parade pauses at the N. Broadway Street Bridge to allow for a ceremony to honor the Navy and Coast Guard and lay a wreath at Veterans Memorial Park. The parade will again pause for wreath placement at the Civil War Memorial at the First Congregational Church. It is not a requirement to register for the parade, however we do reserve the right to refuse entries. We ask that parade participants arrive to the high school by 10:00 A.M. to ensure an orderly line up of parade units. Antique Autos and Tractors line up at the middle school. Kids on bicycles and others not wishing to walk the entire parade route begin at the parking lot downtown adjacent to All Things Serenity Yoga & Event Center. A Patriotic Bike Decorating Contest will be held at the parking lot downtown. Judging will be from 10-10:15 A.M. Bikes should be decorated in a Memorial Day theme with balloons, streamers, flags or other materials. Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place winners in age divisions two to six years old and seven to twelve years old. Parents are required to walk with young children as they ride in the parade. The bike decorating contest is being chaired by Sue Frook, On Broadway Community Theater. Spondsoring the medals is Tate Goodwin, Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation. Participating bikes will receive a free large Freezie courtesy of Jack's Grocery.
